Hiring Opportunity: Delaware OH
Our client is an American Cast Iron Foundry carrying a long history of producing high-quality gray and ductile iron castings. They boast only a 2.5% turnover rate.
The Furnace Operator and Iron Pourer will be responsible for setting up and operating furnaces within a foundry for iron mold pours.
Candidates must be fluent in Spanish and English.
Basic Responsibilities:
- Look at molds to determine which metal needs to be poured first
- Set power adjustment knob to correct setting push on button on furnace cabinet
- Test furnace to ensure it is grounded
- Place weights on the finished molds with crane (7xs casting weight on each mold)
- Place fiberglass blanket on top of the ladle and use the probe to determine the temperature of the metal (between 2570 to 2625)
- Direct the metal into the proper pour hole.
- While waiting for metal to melt metal for next heat should be separated into tubs
- Relining Furnaces and Ladles with chipping gun (wear respirator and hearing protection) remove old lining.
- Mix new refractory lining use forms to reline cure and set per package directions.
Qualifications:
- Fluent in Spanish and English.
- 2 years experience in a foundry environment.
- Experience working with metals.
- Excellent stamina to work on feet for long shifts.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50 pounds).
- Ability to work in varying temperatures.
- Ability to operate cranes forklifts and power tools.
