We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Manager to join our team at School Name a mission-driven educational institution in Los Angeles. This role is responsible for owning the schools budgeting process managing financial planning and ensuring accurate transparent reporting. As a key partner across multiple departments the Finance Manager will play a vital role in aligning resources with organizational goals and supporting leadership with data-driven insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the annual budgeting process and oversee ongoing budget management.
- Partner with department heads to develop monitor and manage budgets ensuring alignment with school objectives.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports forecasts and variance analyses for leadership.
- Provide strategic financial guidance to support decision-making across academic administrative and operational teams.
- Implement and maintain best practices in financial controls reporting and compliance.
- Translate financial data into actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and internal policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Economics or related field (CPA/MBA preferred).
- 5 years of progressive experience in finance budgeting or accounting (experience in education or non-profit sector a plus).
- Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and present financial information to non-financial audiences.
- Proficiency with Excel budgeting tools and financial software
