Job Title: Youth Development Coordinator
Organization: ConnectiKids Inc.
Job Type: Part-time full year (25-28 hours per week occasional evenings and Saturdays as needed)
Pay Range: $19-$20
Program Schedule: full year with alternative hours
- School Year Program: October May (Hours: 12:00 p.m. 6:00 p.m. Monday - Friday)
- Summer Program: Late June - August (Hours: 8:30 a.m. 3:30 p.m. Monday - Friday)
Job Overview
The Youth Development Coordinator works directly with students(Elementary and High school Youth) overseeing them during programming managing behavior facilitating lesson plans and ensuring student safety. The coordinator upholds the ConnectiKids mission throughout the academic year and summer program. Additional responsibilities include administrative tasks family engagement and community outreach.
Key Responsibilities
Program Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage student behavior during programs.
- Supervise students during transportation.
- Facilitate pre-developed lesson plans and manage a classroom of 15-20 students.
- Assist instructors with arts and enrichment sessions.
- Take attendance track mentor-student pairs and maintain program documentation.
- Communicate with program management parents and mentors regarding student progress and program updates.
- Assist in coordinating and implementing special events.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of program spaces.
CIT (Counselors-in-Training) Responsibilities
- Design and lead leadership workshops training sessions and hands-on experiences.
- Monitor and evaluate CIT progress providing feedback and assessments.
- Support CITs in behavior management and camper engagement.
- Serve as a positive role model for CITs demonstrating professionalism and responsibility.
- Collaborate with camp staff to integrate CITs into programs effectively.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Input and manage student registration and documentation.
- Maintain records such as attendance logs permission slips evaluations/surveys and mentor-student demographics.
- Assist in planning and organizing family engagement events.
- Communicate with parents school administrators and community partners.
- Research best practices for youth mentoring and development.
- Assist with lesson planning for book clubs enrichment activities and wellness sessions.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Experience working with youth (ages 5 17) in a camp school or mentoring setting.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with groups and individual students.
- Valid drivers license and access to a registered insured vehicle.
- Flexible availability for special events and programs.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word PowerPoint Excel).
- Ability to understand and communicate complex work-related tasks.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to lift and carry at least 15 pounds.
Compensation: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
Focusing on Educating Enriching and Empowering Hartfords Youth
ConnectiKids Inc. is a nonprofit positive youth development organization that focuses on educating enriching and empowering Hartfords youth. We work directly with three elementary schools West Middle Community School Dr. James H. Naylor School and Michael D. Fox Elementary School with students in kindergarten to fifth grade. We work with one middle school Martin Luther Jr. Middle School to serve students in sixth to eighth grade. We provide one-on-one or small group tutoring mentoring arts book club and enrichment throughout the academic year and summer program during summer break. With these programs we expose our students to new people places and experiences that aid in positive growth and development.
