Position Summary

The Wet Paint/Powder Coater II is an individual who excels in a fast paced Sheetmetal shop environment focusing on on-time delivery of parts. This person possesses a strong work ethic is willing to learn and asks questions about manufacturing processes. They are responsible for washing prepping masking powder coating and wet paint various sheet metal and machined parts. This person also maintains equipment per maintenance schedules.

Essential Functions

Handle parts with care to avoid damage to finishes
Assess most efficient way to rack parts in preparation for coating
Use parts washer to prep parts for powder/paint
Use print to determine what powder coat/wet paint is needed
Select correct powder coat/paint from storage
Mask parts per print (if needed)
Apply powder coat/wet paint using a powder/spray gun
Utilize oven to bake parts at correct temperature after powder coating
Wear proper PPE for job function being performed
Inspect and maintain equipment per schedule
Maintain a clean and organized workspace
Ability to train others in basic operation of powder coat/wet paint
Function in a safe and reliable manner to prevent personal injury and/or property damage
Perform other duties as assigned

Technical Competencies

Moderate understanding of blueprints
Understanding of proper Hazardous waste disposal/storage
Ability to be flexible on daily tasks

Education & Professional Experience

High School diploma or GED required
1-year minimum experience painting/powder coating required

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

Ability to wear a respirator and PPE
Ability to paint/powder coat for extended periods of time
Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
Ability to use hands and fingers to operate computers equipment hand/power tools etc. and handle and feel parts of various size
Ability to bend kneel and crouch occasionally throughout the shift
Ability to push pull or lift 50 lbs. moderately throughout the workday
Ability to focus vision for: close vision color vision depth perception and adjusting to sharp focus
Noise conditions can be moderate to extreme. Hearing protection will be provided if needed and/or by request
Exposure to fumes and/or airborne particles
Moving mechanical parts and vibration
Fast-paced environment

Work Hours/Travel

1^st Shift work schedule: 5 8-hour shifts
Overtime as necessary
Flexible scheduling in agreement with Supervisor
