Position Summary:

Oversees operations of Housekeeping and Laundry at the Stein Eriksen Residences. Ensures the departments are managed in accordance with the operating standards to achieve superior customer service and product quality within the budget. Direct these operations in compliance with goals and objectives of owners to ensure its success via maximum profitability and the highest level of guest and owner satisfaction.

Essential Functions:

• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction in assigning and instructing housekeeping and laundry staff in details of work. Provide staffing training counseling and performance reviews for housekeeping department.
• Plan organize and monitor staff activities to ensure compliance with quality assurance standards set by SER which requires continuous visual inspection of condos and homes and the public areas including restaurants lounges spa etc.
• Manage finances of housekeeping and laundry operations including budget and inventory controls. Analyze data and compile reports on expenditures wages labor supplies relation to SER financial forecasts and budget. Establish and maintain adequate supplies for efficient operation of department.
• Distribute and delegate workload to guarantee maximum production and guest satisfaction with minimum outlay of expenses in terms of labor and materials. Monitor house count and make staffing adjustments accordingly.
• Ensure proper usage of chemicals and cleaning supplies by monitoring usage providing complete training for associates and ensuring proper labeling of hazardous supplies.
• Plan and conduct staff meetings. Attend various other related meetings to obtain and disseminate pertinent information.

Other Responsibilities:

• Supervise the operation of linen supply and storage rooms.
• Install inventory controls for linens and supplies to be monitored by issuance procedures and purchasing.
• Document needs of the department to furnish management with budget requests.
• Monitor issuance of keys and maintain inventory.
• Supervise the selection orientation and training process of all departmental employees.
• Oversee and manage incentive and reward programs to maintain a skilled and motivated work force.
• Oversee the performance evaluation process of all employees in Housekeeping and Laundry.
• Complete detailed public area and room inspections on a daily basis to ensure cleanliness and standards properly maintained.
• Complete incident reports in detail as necessary
• Will work closely with VP Director of Engineering and Resort Manager F&B and Spa Managers in managing the resort property.
• Do whatever necessary to help guests and fellow employees

Education Experience and Skills Preferred:

• Knowledge of basic sanitation requirements/controls and applications of relevant chemicals.
• Ability to deal effectively with associates vendors and contractors.
• Ability to stand walk bend reach and move continuously to inspect rooms on all floors of the condos and homes.
• Experience in Luxury Hotel in at least one of the following areas: Executive Housekeeper or Director of Housekeeping.
• Previous experience in opening a luxury hotel and managing in-house laundry is preferred.
• High school diploma required. College degree preferred.
• At least three years experience as Executive Housekeeper in a luxury resort/hotel.
