Market Data Specialist

The Market Data Team at IMC is responsible for overseeing the entire market data lifecycle. This includes sourcing new data sets negotiating contracts monitoring policies and managing exchange reporting. We work closely with IMC trading and technical teams to ensure seamless top-tier access to the data that underpins our trading strategies. The Market Data Specialist will be responsible for managing the European data catalog and maintaining relationships with data providers while collaborating with IMCs global market data team to ensure alignment with our overarching market data policies.

Your Core Responsibilities:

• Own IMC day-to-day market data management functions oversee the acquisition of real-time data and historical market data.
• Manage the contract administration & invoice reconciliation process and identify cost savings and optimization opportunities.
• Provide data-driven insights to trading and technology leads for relevant strategic initiatives.
• Stay up-to-date on market data trends pricing models and regulatory changes affecting the industry.
• Manage relationships with market data vendors and exchanges negotiate contracts monitor costs and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
• Work with internal stakeholders and global market data team to collate ongoing data needs and identify access/entitlement requirements.
• In collaboration with the global market data team lead contract negotiations with new data providers and support data governance globally.
• Identify savings and optimisation opportunities.
• Ensure market data management practices adhere to regulatory and compliance requirements.

Your Skills and Experience:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance Economics Computer Science Engineering or a related field.
• 3 years of experience in market data management trading support or a related role in the financial industry.
• In-depth knowledge of market data vendor landscape and use case requirements/scoping including but not limited to delivery mechanisms native versus normalized feed non-display versus display data use cases derived data rights and data integrity.
• Understanding of contractual obligations related to exchange data including policy monitoring reporting obligations fee structures and unit of count.
• Experience reviewing contractual agreements and negotiating commercial terms.
• Highly organized self-starter.
• Strong analytical capabilities; ability to synthesize and distil large quantities of data to extract spending trends and insights.
• Familiarity with market data management systems/inventory tools (desired).
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced high-stakes environment.
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
