The FO Finance team is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support the Fulfillment Optimization team. They will be responsible for providing financial support for fulfillment projects that drive multi-billion dollar fulfillment decisions. This role will partner closely with teams of data scientists economists machine learning specialists software developers and product managers who lead the industry in the development of innovative algorithms and optimization strategies to maximize long term growth and profitability of Amazons Consumer business.
The candidate will be responsible for financial planning inputs and explaining output of scientific models that drive worldwide network transportation design and connectivity decisions to support key planning targets. This includes developing a deep understanding of cost inflection points and their associated financial tradeoff curves.
Key job responsibilities - Leading cross-functional initiatives through partnership with Technology Operations and Finance to drive both short-term incremental improvements and long-term strategic changes to our fulfillment network and optimization software - Root cause issues quickly and uncover core issues using data then assist consult with and teach the business how decisions affect costs and create new mechanisms as they are needed - Partnering with finance leaders across Amazon to design and execute programs to drive value - Communicating financial and business results to senior business leaders
- Bachelors degree in finance accounting business economics or a related analytical field (e.g. engineering math computer science) - 3 years of tax finance or a related analytical field experience
- MBA or CPA - Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL MS Access Essbase Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle SAP Lawson JD Edwards) - 3 years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience - Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis
