Job Summary

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE (but not limited to):

Welding and hot work as instructed by the Boilermaker Foreman.

QUALIFICATION SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

The following trade tested qualifications will be considered:

Must be qualified with a valid trade test certificate.
Work experience of at least 5 years in the marine industry
Knowledge of metallurgy
Repair machinery with different welding techniques
Set up components for welding
Ability and acumen to work independently read blueprints and understand drawings
Ability to take and read measurements
Strong welding background and knowledge of welding procedures
Ability to operate machinery power tools and equipment
Knowledge of materials used in welding jobs and steel structures of a vessel and certain jobs
Good knowledge of health and safety
Attention to detail good problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.

Medically fit to work on board fishing vessels.
