The Opportunity
Reporting to the Group Leader Technical Services the Senior Asset Management Officer will provide operational and technical support in the development and maintenance of Councils asset management systems. You will assist in delivering asset management plans for all community infrastructure including transport stormwater buildings open space water wastewater and plant. Your work will ensure that Councils assets are managed effectively risks are mitigated and renewal planning aligns with strategic and financial objectives.
The ideal candidate will hold tertiary qualifications in civil engineering asset management or a related disciplineor possess equivalent industry experience recognised by a relevant Australian professional institute. You will have recent experience in asset management or engineering within public infrastructure and a strong understanding of computer-based asset management systems including databases and Geographic Information Systems. Experience with electronic Asset Management Systems such as Reflect as well as stakeholder consultation and research will be highly regarded. Current WHS General Construction Induction and a Class C Driver Licence are required.
To thrive in this role you will bring a sound understanding of risk and asset management principles aligned with the International Infrastructure Maintenance Manual (IIMM) and ISO 55000 and ISO 31000 standards. You will demonstrate high-level analytical investigative and problem-solving skills coupled with exceptional written and verbal communication. A proactive approach attention to detail and the ability to translate technical information into practical outcomes will be essential for success. Knowledge of economic assessment techniques is desirable.
