Construction Engineering Lead (ITS)

ATCS Construction Services is growing! We are looking for an ITS Construction Inspector or a Senior ITS Construction Inspector in the Hampton Roads region.

The ITS Construction Inspector duties include:

• Monitor the work of contractors to ensure quality control and contract compliance for traffic signals ITS roadway signs pavement markings intersection improvements construction/maintenance projects
• Identify and make appropriate field adjustments; refers engineering changes for appropriate review and action
• Prepares correspondence to communicate with agency and contractor personnel
• Maintains detailed records
• Performs and documents required materials testing
• Communicates with the agency and contractor personnel
• Compute daily pay quantities and prepare field adjustment estimates inform project management of issues that arise in the field and assist in resolution as directed and contribute feedback to Project Inspector for evaluations for all prime contractors and agreed-upon subcontractors.

Requirements:

• 5 years of traffic signal ITS and highway construction inspection experience.
• Familiarity with Intelligent Transportation Systems signals dynamic message signs electronics and installation of conduit and junction boxes for VDOT traffic systems.
• Most recent editions of VDOT Road and Bridge Specifications (including Supplemental Specifications) Road and Bridge Standards Construction Manual Inspector Manual Virginia Supplement to the Manual for Uniform Traffic Control Devices the Virginia Work Area Protection Manual and any references incorporated therein
• Possession of or ability to obtain required certifications within 12 months of employment and maintain

Our employees are the most critical part of ATCS. For this position we offer a competitive salary range of $17.00 to $45.00 per hour commensurate with experience and qualifications. The role is also eligible for overtime and an annual bonus with a target 2% of the employees annualized addition to compensation ATCS offers outstanding employee-focused benefits for you and your family.
