What You Will Do:

Come join our dynamic team of Environment Health and Safety (EH&S) professionals!

Raytheon has an opportunity for a motivated and self-directed Environment Health and Safety Professional to support our ongoing compliance and risk reduction efforts at the Chesapeake VA site.

As an EH&S Principal Specialist youll work with manufacturing and support teams to foster employee engagement and drive risk reduction andcontinuous improvement of the EH&S program.

Your responsibilities will include

• Recognizing evaluating and controlling hazardous workplace conditions while proactively ensuring the safety and health of site employees and influencing safe behaviors.
• Interacting with employees and gaining recognition as a site resource.
• Building partnerships and influencing across assigned areas to provide actionable improvement programs.
• Investigating analyzing and interpreting data from injuries and near-misses ensuring corrective actions are completed on time and all necessary documentation is in place.
• Developing implementing and supporting the sites EH&S compliance programs including managing and reporting data related to sustainability programs.
• Maintaining OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Star certification including mentoring and coaching the sites employee safety committee.
• Working with subject matter experts to assure compliance with applicable federal state local and company EH&S requirements.

Position requires limited travel for participation in company seminars EH&S audits and training opportunities.

This job is posted as ONSITE and is based at Raytheons Chesapeake VA facility.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically Requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
• Experience developing implementing and/or supporting EH&S compliance programs
• Experience evaluating EHS processes and/or documentation

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Demonstrated experience in EH&S compliance including sustainability programs
• Previous experience working at an OSHA VPP site
• Professional Certification in the EHS field (ASP CSP CIH etc.)
• Strong verbal written and presentation communication skills.
• Strong computer skills particularly Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint

The salary range for this role is 82000 USD - 164000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
