Job Summary

The Position

TheEducational Services Support Division is now accepting applications for ERSEA Compliance Specialist.

Under the supervision of the Supervisor Head Start Compliance/ERSEA performs technical clerical and record keeping duties relating to Eligibility Recruitment Selection Enrollment and Attendance (ERSEA) of children and families in the Head Start Early Head Start and State Preschool programs; provides recruitment support and data collection; reviews and verifies financial information completes enrollment processes using federal and state regulations and guidelines.

This position is full-time in-person and has a work year of 12 months/ 261 days/ 5 days per week/ 8 hours per day.

Education and Experience

Any combination equivalent to:

  • Education: Graduation from high school and supplemented by one year of college level course work in a related area of study
  • Experience: AND three years of experience in a public assistance or similar program working with eligibility recruitment enrollment selection or attendance records.

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid California drivers license

EXAMINATION PROCEDURES

  • Assessments and interviews may take place virtually or in-person.
  • Following the final filing date the qualifications of all candidates will be evaluated.
  • Themost qualified candidateswill be invited to participatein a written exam tentatively scheduled forOctober 10 2025.
  • Those who pass the written exam will be invited to participate in an oral examination with subject matter experts tentatively scheduled for October 22 2025.
  • Based on the final scores of qualified candidates Classified Personnel Services will establish a ranked candidate list.
  • Selected candidates from the list will be invited to a second interview with the hiring authorities tentatively scheduled for October 29 2025.
  • Second interviews may be held in-person.
  • Candidates will be invited over email to participate in examination and selection steps using the email supplied within their or as updated by candidates in it is recommended that candidates check their email at least daily.


NOTE: Examination procedures are subject to change as deemed necessary by the Director - Classified Personnel Services. Candidates who test successfully for placement on the eligibility list may be certified to other related positions without further testing requirements OR job posting announcements. The right is reserved to add eliminate or adjust testing steps and/or information on the posting at any time during the position posting and testing process which may include but is not limited to further testing inclusive of on-the job testing recruitment and recruitment extensions which may be for less than 15 days after an eligibility list has been certified which may cause adjustments on the eligibility list as evaluated to be reasonable or necessary.
