Business Lead - Packaging

JOB PURPOSE

As Packaging Business lead you will be leading teams in the packaging area in the biggest Unilever Personal care factory in North America. You will be leading a team of technicians and people managers across a 24x7 operation. The packaging area in Jefferson City factory is designed to deliver a wide array of complex packs. You will be leading a technically skilled team in a very fast paced highly automated packaging area. You will uphold safety as a value in the factory and will ensure compliance to quality is always a priority. You will lead teams to deliver productivity and other business targets through the execution of manufacturing processes. You will be a business partner to other areas in within manufacturing and will play a very pivotal role in success of the factory.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drive the Unilever safety culture in the packaging area to ensure compliance to all regulatory plant safety rules and other programs such as LOTO and risk assessments.
• Drive compliance to quality standards through training educating teams on the floor as per the existing standards. Ensuring all risks are evaluated and proper support is available to navigate quality concerns during the shift.
• Provide guidance in root cause analysis for quality and safety incidents and establishes countermeasures to mitigate recurrence.
• Drive productivity through execution of factory operating systems in all areas ensuring resources are directed as per the business priorities/urgency.
• Sets and delivers the business targets such as Operational reliability AM and operational waste in the packaging area.
• Lead and manage the waste reduction focused improvement projects across shifts.
• Guide the teams through equipment breakdown documentation of EWOs and assigning relevant resources for resolution.
• Tracks performance indicators such as operational efficiency changeover losses centerline compliance escalates and directs resources as required.
• Builds capabilities in teams through engagement and ensuring hiring training and communication is always in place across all levels of the organization.
• Shares consistent and on time feedback to the teams ensures the performance attendance standards are always met.
• Shares and builds development plans for employees when performance gaps are identified through regular performance reviews.
• Fosters a culture of positive employee relations builds capability recognizes gaps and acts to help resolve those gaps.
• Leads the execution of WCM principles guidelines on the floor and participates/leads in focused improvement projects.
• Leads and supports minor and major innovations the packaging area.
• Partners with environmental teams to reduce the use of utilities in the packaging area.
• Partners with the supply planning teams on asset availability and sustains high asset utilization.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors degree and 3 years of previous leadership experience in manufacturing environment.
• Excellent communication skills and passion for continuous improvement.
  Ability clearly articulate communicate and analyze complex operational details.
• Strong leadership skills ability to share clear consistent accountable and actionable feedback.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex business innovations.
• Qualitative and Quantitative analysis skills and ability to manage loss analysis.
• Ability to work with diverse groups of people with varying levels of education expertise and background.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays (10%) of the time.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 3 years of leadership experience within an FMCG/CPG facility.

Pay: The pay range for this position is $86080 to $129120. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets experience and training licensure and certifications qualifications and education and other business and organizational needs.

Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.

Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
