Overview:

Praescient Analytics is seeking aData Engineer & Cloud Operations Specialistto support a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) program. This role combines advanced data engineering with ongoing operations and maintenance (O&M) of acontractor-owned AWS environment ensuring seamless integration of commercial analytic platforms such as i2 Analysts Notebook Babel Street and Clearview while maintainingcost-effective cloud operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Flow & Integration

  • Build monitor and optimize secure data ingestion pipelines from open-source deep web and dark web sources.

  • Maintain and enhance API integrations across i2 Analysts Notebook Babel Street Clearview and other analytic tools.

  • Support continuous data availability for AI/ML-enabled analytics and real-time monitoring.

• Cloud Operations & Maintenance

  • Manage contractor-owned AWS infrastructure (EC2 S3 RDS IAM VPC EKS/ECS) to ensure availability and scalability.

  • Implement patching configuration updates monitoring and incident response using AWS-native tools (CloudWatch GuardDuty Config).

  • Ensure security privacy and controlled unclassified information (CUI) protections consistent with DHS program requirements.

  • Monitor and manage ongoing AWS consumption costs identifying optimization opportunities to maximize efficiency without compromising mission readiness.

• Collaboration & Mission Support

  • Partner with data scientists analysts and stakeholders to ensure analytic models and mission systems operate reliably in production.

  • Troubleshoot disruptions quickly to minimize mission impact and maintain continuous intelligence delivery.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience:5 years in data engineering or cloud operations supporting DHS DOJ DoD or IC programs.

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in AWS cloud services APIs and orchestration frameworks (Airflow NiFi or equivalent).

  • Experience with containerization/orchestration (Docker Kubernetes/EKS).

• Security Knowledge:Familiarity with FedRAMP High principles DHS 4300A guidance and CUI handling requirements.

• Problem Solving:Ability to resolve mission-critical data or infrastructure issues under tight timelines.

Preferred Certifications

• AWS Certified Data Engineer Associate or Professional

• AWS Certified SysOps Administrator or Solutions Architect
