Manager, Audible Books Content Acquisition EU - 14-Month Contract

ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Audible Books Content Acquisition Team EU owns the full cycle business relationships with the authors writers content creators literary agents and recognized IP brands that serve as Audibles top global creators in the literary this role youll generate negotiate and close a high volume of new deals and deal renewals for audio original and book-based audio content with prospective and current top partners at terms that benefit Audible customers. Youll have responsibility for acquired content ensure successful post-signing go to market planning across the relevant teams at Audible and Amazon and contribute to defining strategic development affecting Audibles overall growth and success.

This role is open through a 14-month contract.

As the Manager Audible Books Content Acquisition EU you will...
- Maintain strong relationships with existing content partners
- Independently manage prioritize and execute high volume deal flow
- Structure negotiate and execute deals supporting Audibles content strategy
- Identify and prepare projects for internal support and valuation
- Prepare data budgets P&Ls and draft proposed deal terms
- Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders across multiple teams
- Track and communicate deal terms within the organization
- Provide first line enforcement of deal terms when necessary
- Manage comprehensive EU renewal licensing processes
- Maintain and update archive management systems
- Conduct business reviews of existing content licenses
- Negotiate renewal terms and conditions
- Collaborate with finance and operations on licensing metrics
- Process and manage incoming book submissions
- Compile detailed pitch support materials
- Analyze and present performance data for acquisition decisions
- Provide support to the EU5 Audible Books team
- Assist with cross-regional licensing initiatives
- Support collaborative projects and administrative processes

- Experience and proven success in a book publishing agency content media rights business development or digital media department/company
- Experience negotiating complex agreements with a firm understanding of legal terminology and reasoning
- Experience in and understanding of both the digital and traditional media spaces
- Experience in contract management and data analysis tools
- Experience operating in a high-energy high-intensity and rapidly evolving environment
- Experience working with cross functional teams under aggressive deadlines
- Business fluency in English

- Resourceful self-starter with an independent attitude and focus on excellence
- Effective verbal and written communication skills -- ability to effectively communicate complex concepts and ideas in a simple manner across different levels of an organization
- Proficiency in additional European languages particularly Italian French Spanish German or Portuguese
- Demonstrated organizational analytical decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Proven extensive network in the local and international book publishing industry especially with authors and literary agencies
- Experience in the audio space acquiring or selling audio rights
- Passionate about storytelling the evolution of audio theater music books and consuming audio content
- Advanced Excel and database management capabilities
- Strong aptitude to use Salesforce PowerPoint and company-wide data analysis and Project Management tools
