State Administrative Manager 15

This position manages the activities and staff of the Intensive Residential Habilitation (IRH) Section. The position oversees the area responsible for the development and oversight of behavioral health intensive residential treatment services and supports. It develops and reviews IRH contracts that support the establishment and advancement of IRH services and supports related to community residential placement for adults children and youth with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) diagnoses transitioning from institutional levels of care. This position is responsible for ensuring the necessary policies procedures and potential Medicaid changes are developed and processed along with any required reporting needs. It manages the professional staff responsible for the development and oversight of the IRH services and related special projects. The position works closely with other areas of the administration and department to ensure that the vision and priorities related to IRH services for all populations are consistent with the overall direction of MDHHS and individual administrations.

Required Education and Experience

Education
Possession of a bachelors degree in any major.

Experience
Four years of professional experience including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.

Alternate Education and Experience

Education level typically acquired through completion of high school and two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 14 level; or one year of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 15 level may be substituted for the education and experience requirements.

Additional Requirements and Information

The physical location of this position is 400 South Pine Street Lansing. Based on operational needs and within established limits remote work and alternate or hybrid work schedule requests for this position may be considered. Selected candidates who have been approved to work remotely or a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.



Employees will be provided computers to perform state work. Phones may also be provided for necessary communications. If working remotely employees will be responsible for providing other components of a remote office at their own expense including:

  • A secure work location that allows privacy and prevents distractions.
  • A high-speed internet connection of at least 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
  • Suitable lighting furniture and utilities.
