Experience
- Proven experience of 5 -10 years as a grader operator or similar role.
Requirements
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness (Dover test).
- Strong knowledge of operating graders and other heavy equipment.
- Ability to interpret and follow instructions blueprints and grade stakes.
- Physical strength and stamina to perform tasks such as operating controls and sitting for extended periods.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to safety at all times.
Responsibilities
- Operate a grader to manipulate controls and adjust blade angles to achieve the desired grading of surfaces.
- Follow project blueprints plans and specifications to determine the appropriate grading requirements.
- Evaluate surfaces to identify high spots low spots and other irregularities that need to be corrected.
- Use the grader to cut fill and level surfaces to the specified grade and slope ensuring proper drainage and alignment.
- Coordinate with surveyors engineers and other team members to ensure accurate grading according to project requirements.
- Perform routine maintenance on the grader such as checking fluid levels greasing moving parts and replacing worn or damaged components.
- Inspect the grader before each use to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Communicate effectively with site supervisors and other team members to coordinate activities and ensure smooth workflow.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grader and surrounding work area.
