Job Summary:
We are hiring a flexible and motivated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) Level II or III to serve as a Float Nurse between our pediatric outpatient clinics in the Clayton and Wake Forest areas. This position plays a key role in supporting a high standard of patient care across multiple sites. Candidates must bring strong clinical expertise effective communication skills and a commitment to pediatric care.
Key Responsibilities (Varies by Level):
- Provide direct pediatric care under the supervision of physicians or senior clinical leadership
- Execute telephone triage refill prescriptions and maintain comprehensive EMR documentation
- Perform venipuncture catheterization and set up/analyze lab cultures
- Support providers with care coordination and patient follow-ups
- Serve as a mentor or team lead (Level III) for new and existing nursing staff
- Participate in committees clinical improvement initiatives and cross-clinic collaboration
- Ensure patient confidentiality and regulatory compliance (OSHA HIPAA CLIA)
Qualifications Overview
Registered Nurse (RN) Level II:
- Current RN license in North Carolina
- Strong critical thinking and clinical task efficiency
- Ability to lead patient care independently including for complex cases
- Proficient in pediatric triage lab work and documentation
- Supports staff training and operational improvements
Registered Nurse (RN) Level III:
- Meets all Level II qualifications
- Extensive pediatric clinical experience and knowledge
- Skilled in planning and directing patient care flow and nursing resources
- Leads clinical teams facilitates interviews and orientations
- Independently manages projects contributes to clinical innovation
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Level II:
- Current LPN license in North Carolina
- Proven accuracy in triage and patient documentation
- Ability to work with complex pediatric cases
- Familiar with care coordination and lab protocols
- Competency in leading peer support during shifts
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Level III:
- Meets all Level II qualifications
- Advanced pediatric clinical knowledge
- Ability to independently solve problems and lead care coordination
- Proven skills in mentoring and onboarding clinical staff
- Actively participates in committees staff selection and incident resolution
