Job Summary:
Performs accurate simulation and/or delivery of prescribed ionizing therapeutic radiation under the direction of a radiation oncologist and adhering to radiation safety guidelines using a variety of complex techniques and equipment. Performs daily equipment warm-up and quality assurance procedures. Prepares immobilization devices.

Frye Regional Medical Center located in the beautiful foothills of North Carolina is a 355-bed acute care hospital 81-bed Behavioral Health facility and more than 70 primary and specialty care providers.
Essential Functions
- Prepare and construct immobilization and treatment devices
- Position patients for simulation and treatment with accuracy according to the radiation oncologist prescription
- Preform daily warm-up and QA according to practices and standards.
- Reports machine and equipment problems to manager physicist and field service engineer.
- Review pre-therapist checklist which includes but not limited to informed consent prescription diagnosis patient chart and parameters and patient ID before initiating treatment
- Follow ALARA
- Efficiently coordinates patient schedules to optimize resources.
- Preforms chart review and reports any issues to physician physics and manager
- Interacts with internal and external customers professionally
- Preforms all hospital required reading according to the hospital guidelines
- Preform all OBI functions such as CBCT with efficiency
- Efficient with ARIA

Qualifications
Minimum Education
- Registered or registry eligible by the American Registry or Radiologic Technologists.
- BLS required
Minimum Work Experience
One year current experience as a Radiation Therapist preferred.
