Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY: The Community Language Program supports language acquisition within the adult community. This position coordinates community partnerships within the program to support adult instruction homework help and childcare.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge Skills Abilities:

  1. Ability to proficiently speak read write and listen in English and Spanish.
  2. Highly organized to manage all program components.
  3. Skilled in creating and sustaining community partnerships
  4. Recruitment of staff.

Experience:

Prior experience teaching English and Spanish required. Prior experience developing and coordinating successful community partnerships perferred.

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent required. College level coursework or degree in Spanish preferred.

Certification Required: None

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Work closely with the Welcome Center Supervisor to design program experience.
  2. Coordinate with community partners to create programming for Community Language Program.
  3. Recruit train and schedule Community Language Program staff.
  4. Secure and maintain program learning spaces.
  5. Attend all scheduled events punctually and consistently as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must be dependable flexible and capable of working within a school setting.
  2. Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professional behavior with students and staff.
  3. Must pass a background check per district policy

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense to carry out accurate and clear written or oral

instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized

situations.

Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to work collaboratively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers supervisor(s) staff students parents and community.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to walk and may

be continuously required to stand. The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck

and trunk while performing the duties of this job. The employee is occasionally required to

reach with hands and arms and stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee continuously

uses hand strength to grasp tools. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25

pounds. The employee may be required to sit at a desk and use a computer for long periods

of time.

Stipend: Hourly Rate according the the Curriculum Rateof $35.40 (total 112 hours)
