Freelance Penetration Testers (Web API Mobile Infra)

Overview
Redherd is recruiting freelance penetration testers based in South Africa to join an ad-hoc talent pool supporting a well-established security consultancy. These are hourly-based contract opportunities suited to experienced consultants who want flexible on-demand engagements.
You ll work across a wide variety of security testing projects for local and international clients delivering high-quality offensive security work as needed.
Areas of Focus
We are particularly looking for consultants with demonstrable experience in one or more of the following:
- Web Application Penetration Testing
- API Security Testing
- Mobile Application Security (Android and/or iOS)
- Network and Infrastructure Penetration Testing
- Red or Purple Team experience (advantageous but not essential)
- Familiarity with core testing tools such as Burp Suite Nmap Metasploit Nessus etc.
Requirements
- Based in South Africa
- Minimum 3 years hands-on experience in penetration testing or offensive security
- Experience working on contract/freelance pentesting engagements
- Must be properly registered/approved to work as an independent contractor in South Africa
- Comfortable working 100% remotely with minimal supervision
- High reliability and clear written communication skills (especially for reports)
- Certifications such as OSCP OSWE CRTO eCPPT are beneficial
Engagement Details
- Hourly ad-hoc project work
- No guaranteed minimum hours assignments as needed
- Fully remote (within South Africa)
- Competitive hourly rates depending on experience and project scope
