Main Accountabilities

• Adhere to Air Liquide safety standards and follow the Life Saving Rules.

• Promoting safety and willing to be a SHE representative.

• Report near misses and safety incidents in the facility.

• Adhere to high Air Liquide quality standards.

• Responsible for being ethical at all times.

• Responsible for sorting cylinders according to correct gas types filling of cylinders according to the appropriate gases and are moved to the correct allocated area for loading.

• Responsible for filling cylinders over and above target.

• Responsible for continuously reporting bulk losses.

• Participating in Daily Performance Management (DPM) meetings.

• Will be required to drive a forklift and pallet jack.

• Will be required to work shifts and appear for overtime as and when required.

• Responsible for maintaining housekeeping in the facility - Monitor equipment and report malfunctions to Supervisor

• Record daily filling operations on a Production Record sheet and maintaining adequate stock of gases.

• Cleaning of empties when there are no cylinders to fill during a normal shift.

• Adhere to food safety prerequisite programmes (PRPs) SOPs and the food safety management system to meet customer and product specifications of food grade gases.

• Ensure that scales pressure gauges infra-red thermometers are calibrated and verified

• Ensure empties are moved to empty platforms for filling in pallets / baskets and the faulty cylinders to be investigated and sent to the repair station once pre-filling checks have been carried out

• Adhere to food safety prerequisite programmes (PRPs) SOP s and the food safety management system to meet customer and product specifications of food grade gases.

• WORKING CONDITIONS

• Working conditions in a plant environment - Rotate on shift basis as per roster

• Matric Certificate (Mathematics and physics background will be advantageous)

Experience

• Technical / Production knowledge and experience

Knowledge and Know-how specific to the job

• Fair Knowledge of Gases or Gas properties
