JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
This position provides essential support across a broad portfolio of communications tasks primarily assisting with writing content development and podcast-related projects. The assistant will collaborate with the Evidence-to-Impact Collaborative and the Prevention Research Center leadership and communications teams to enhance outreach and engagement efforts that promote research impact and community health initiatives.
Primary Duties (with approximate % of time):
Assist in drafting editing and proofreading written communications including newsletters web content news articles and releases and reports (40%)
Support the production of podcast episodes by coordinating scheduling assisting with recording and editing releasing and managing episode promotion (30%)
Contribute to social media content creation and dissemination to increase visibility of projects and events (15%)
Perform general administrative tasks to support the communications team such as tracking project timelines and coordinating meetings (10%)
Other duties as assigned to support communications and outreach goals (5%)
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled or recent graduate with an interest in communications public health or related fields
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Basic familiarity with podcast production and editing tools is a plus
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
Detail-oriented with good organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new software as needed
Supervision Received:
Works under the direct supervision of Associate Director for the Evidence-to-Impact Collaborative with guidance on project priorities and deadlines.
Scope of Responsibilities:
Supports communications initiatives at the department/center level with potential to impact broader outreach efforts through digital and multimedia engagement.
