About the job

The Canadian Government Sales Team is looking for a Senior Account Executive who will be focused on customers in our Federal Government territory. As part of the revenue engine for the Canadian team youll play a key role in building a well-qualified pipeline that drives robust and scalable revenue this role you will focus on expanding our new recurring revenue business by positioning Software Cloud Education and Premium Support Services along with complementary offerings like Consulting Services and Health Checks. Success in this role requires a passion for customer relationships a knack for strategic selling and the ability to identify and deliver tailored solutions.

As a Senior Account Executive you will:

  • Sell software solutions and services to current and prospective customers; works with other sales/pre-sales/domain/personnel to position and leverage sales opportunities to acquire grow and retain customers within assigned territory.
  • Fulfill wide range of requests for information from prospective customers. Qualifies level of opportunity and resources required.
  • Prospect within a territory or account to uncover business needs.
  • Implement aspects of territory and account management and development; identifies accounts with high close potential qualifies advances opportunity through milestone steps of sales cycle and forecast time frames to close business within Orion.
  • Prepare standard quotations and proposal information as needed; works with other departments to create and finalize contracts and set time schedules for delivery services.
  • Follow up with customers to track satisfaction levels and to discover additional revenue opportunities.
  • Develop a basic understanding of company pricing licensing procedures and approvals matrix.
  • Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organizations secure software development goals.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelors degree preferably in Business Marketing MIS or other relevant discipline.
  • Requires a minimum of eight years of experience in the sales marketing or technical support of computer software solutions (including related training products and services) computer hardware or telecommunications software/hardware. Specific industry related experience may be considered in combination with the above requirements.
  • Must live in the Ottawa area.
  • Must have previous experience selling technical solutions into the Federal Government.
  • Equivalent combination of related education training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.

Additional competencies knowledge and skills

  • Account Planning Establishing a plan to achieve the sales objectives of an account taking into consideration overall opportunities customer business priorities and anticipated business changes regional issues pas sales results and available resources; taking action specified in the account plan reviewing progress and adjusting the plan as needed.
  • Qualifying Sales Accurately evaluating sales opportunities to determine the future value of that customer; assessing the customers interest and commitment to buy and implement solutions as well as own organizations ability to deliver those solutions.
  • Leveraging a Winning Sales Strategy Developing and implementing an influence strategy and a value proposition that differentiates products and services resonates with decision makers encourages them to further define issues and solutions and motivates them to take action.
