JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The Management & Organization Department of the Smeal College of Business is seeking applicants for part-time Faculty Mentor for the Nittany Lion Consulting Group (NLCG).
Job duties to include:
Meet with student teams to provide coaching and mentoring relative to their consulting engagements
Enable student learning by providing feedback and facilitating self-reflection by NLCG members
Assess the performance of NLCG teams as a portion of each students grade
Attend Faculty Mentor Meeting with each team (4 teams)
Introductory meeting/call with each of four clients (4 clients)
Client check-ins (minimum of 2 occurrences per semester for each client)
Initial meeting and periodic conversation with Strategic Business Unit (SBU) Director
Final presentations
Preparation of team performance assessments (2 occurrences each semester)
All faculty mentor meetings (3 occurrences each semester)
Reviewing materials meeting preparation etc.
Requirements qualifications and/or competencies:
Significant professional experience related to management consulting
This is an in-person position
Each mentor is assigned to one Strategic Business Unit (either commercial non-profit or Penn State).
Each SBU consists of an SBU Director (whose role it is to lead that SBU) and four engagement teams.
Each engagement team is typically comprised of an Engagement Manager and three Associates.
Compensation: $48 - $52 per hour based on experience
