Gateway Regional School: 1 to 1 Sunrise Academy Instructional Assistant - LT SubWhile working with individual students or in small groups the instructional assistant will provide the following:Help students complete classroom assignments and homeworkProvide caring social emotional and behavioral support to student(s) in needUnder the direction of the Sunrise Teacher and district BCBA ensure all appropriate ABA practices are employed in strict accordance to best practiceAssist teacher with the implementation of lesson plansHelp create a calm and respectful classroom environmentManage student behaviors by teaching/reinforcing problem solving skills and providing de-escalation techniquesRegularly communicate with teacher and other school staff regarding academic social and behavioral progressMust be willing to secure and sustain a 7D drivers license to assist in driving students to volunteer and work study be willing to become CPI teacher with social skills implementation activities of daily living community outings and behavioral with all members of the district team working closely with nursing staff to meet the goals of care plans with a friendly holistic and optimistic approach to ensure student success and promote health and wellbeingQualified applicants should:Have 3 years of experience working in a primary care setting or roleExperience working with students with medical needs is an unwavering belief that every student can succeed. * Under the direction of the Teacher carry out duties specific to family and community based outreach component.
