PathPoint is excited to welcome part-time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to join our Community Access Program in Santa Barbara CA 930101. PathPoints day services provide skills training and support for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As a Direct Support Professional you will lead in-person and community-based. The curriculum includes art music cooking volunteering and more. Were looking for creative and compassionate people who are teachers at heart and we encourage you to bring your own ideas for new curriculum!

About PathPoint: PathPoint is a nonprofit dedicated to helping people flourish. We partner with children adults and families to foster hope build life skills access support systems and form meaningful relationships. We serve communities across Kern Los Angeles San Luis Obispo Santa Barbara and Ventura counties.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 10am-3pm and the work environment may be a mix of indoor and outdoor settings.

Compensation: This is an hourly non-exempt position starting at $26.50 per hour. The pay range for this position is $25.18-27.83. The pay range is subject to change based on a variety of factors.

What Youll Do:

  • Teach individuals social/life skills to help them lead more independent lives including communication skills mobility money management housing and public transportation.
  • Teach individuals vocational skills to help prepare them for entry-level employment.
  • Supervise individuals during hours of instruction and on community outings and volunteering.
  • Build friendly and professional rapport with individuals and act as a positive role model for work habits communication skills and social skills.
  • Prepare weekly schedules monthly training projections and written progress reports.

What Were Looking For:

  • Patience compassion and the ability to interact with individuals with disabilities their family members and others in a positive and constructive manner.
  • Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors.
  • Must be willing to complete hygiene tasks and change adult diapers.
  • Must have a valid California drivers license with a satisfactory driving record and be eligible for coverage on PathPoints auto insurance policy.
  • Culturally aware acknowledges diverse employee backgrounds possesses skills to collaborate across cultures and avoids biased assumptions based on cultural differences.
  • High school diploma or GED required
