Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Java Cloud (Azure) Developer/Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our Java application code base.
The primary focus will be on building and maintaining Java web applications RESTful APIs and containerized solutions leveraging Azure cloud services.
While the role is Java-focused candidates with an interest in contributing to Python or ABAP development will have opportunities to do so though it is not a requirement.

Daily Duties / Responsibilities:

Design develop and maintain Java applications using Spring Boot Maven JUnit and object-oriented design principles.
Develop and deploy containerized applications leveraging Docker and Azure cloud services.
Design implement and maintain RESTful APIs that integrate with enterprise systems.
Collaborate with team members in an Agile environment (Scrum/Kanban) to deliver high-quality solutions.
Utilize Git (GitFlow) for version control and collaborative development.
Contribute to CI/CD pipeline development using Azure DevOps.
Participate in test-driven development (TDD) and ensure code quality through automated testing.
Optional: Contribute to Python and ABAP application development if desired.

Required Skills and Experience:

5 years application development using object-oriented design (OOD) principles.
5 years Java web development experience including Spring Boot Maven JUnit.
5 years developing containerized applications with Docker.
Strong knowledge of RESTful API design and development.
Proficiency with Git and branching strategies (GitFlow).
Excellent communication skills and proven ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Skills:

Azure (preferred) or AWS cloud development experience including:

Integration services (Azure API Management EventGrid etc.)
Serverless services (Azure Functions Container Apps AWS Lambda Fargate etc.)
Managed databases (Azure SQL Managed Instance AWS RDS etc.)
Familiarity with Agile project management tools (Azure DevOps GitLab Jira).
Understanding of event-driven architectures.
5 years Azure DevOps experience for CI/CD and backlog management.
Practice with test-driven development (TDD).
Optional exposure to ERP systems (SAP SAP 4/HANA Ivalua) though ABAP development is not required.

Required Education / Certifications:

Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Information Management or related technical field; OR equivalent experience in application/system development.

Preferred Education / Certifications:

Azure and/or AWS certifications.
ERP-related experience (SAP SAP 4/HANA Ivalua) is a plus but not required.
