Sargent Colleges Department of Speech Language & Hearing Sciences offers academic professional programs with a focus on preparing students for careers in health care. Reporting to the Department Chair the department manager will work to ensure the efficient management and operational excellence of the academic unit and its dynamic community of faculty researchers and students. Working in collaboration with the Chair and Program Director core responsibilities include management of budgets and coordination of department related activities including helping to arrange student orientation/meetings continuing education conferences direct workflow and workloads of all departmental student employees. Assist with faculty appointments promotions tenure applications recruitments and searches. Maintain departmental documentation in coordination with Department Chair and Program Directors. Schedule plan and direct (as applicable) departmental meetings events and other special projects. Manage student employee payroll submission order supplies and process Concur expense reports. The Department Manager may also support educational and research-related activities on an as-needed basis.

- Bachelors Degree with 3-5 years of related experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Essential skills also include organization time management strong judgment problem solving exceptional attention to detail.
- A collaborative work approach with the ability to handle confidential materials with discretion.
- Ability to create positive relationships and work with colleagues faculty staff and students from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent problem solving and customer service skills.
- Ability to create a vibrant welcoming atmosphere to ensure success belonging satisfaction and engagement of students faculty guests and visitors.
- Prior experience using Microsoft Word Excel Outlook Teams and Zoom.
- Experience managing a budget.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team exercising initiative and judgment. Facility with data analysis. Comfort using quality data to help guide decision-making.
