Job Summary:
This role is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in an observation unit of a short-term acute care hospital. The RN will provide nursing care to patients requiring observation for surgical procedures procedural observation medical observation some medical inpatient care and some long-length-of-stay patients. Floating between similar units is required.
Location: Olympia Washington United States.
Responsibilities:
- Providing skilled nursing care to patients in an observation unit.
- Patient assessments and monitoring.
- Medication administration.
- Treatment planning and implementation.
- Collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Charting in EPIC.
- Floating between various like units within skill set.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
- Minimum of one year of RN experience (first-timers accepted).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Two or more years of hospital experience.
- Experience in medical-surgical or other relevant units.
Special Considerations:
- Floating between like units is mandatory.
- Weekend work is required (every other weekend).
- Travelers with permanent residence within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible.
- No on-call requirements at this time.
- No block scheduling available.
- Pending licenses are not accepted.
- Preference for return-to-work time under 7 days.
Scheduling:
- 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts are available.
- Patient ratios: 1:4 (Days); 1:5 (NOC); 1:5 (Weekends).
