The University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a patient centered90% Senior/Imaging Technologist (36 hours) to work in our Quad Cities Urgent Care Clinics. This position is responsible for perform diagnostic imaging procedures utilizing advanced imaging technology/equipment explain examination procedures to patients and monitor their status and instruct students and staff on examination and equipment operations and ensures all imaging protocols are being used position comes with the University of Iowas generous full benefit package including double-match retirement paid vacation and sick leave free parking and much more. This position supports our UI Health Care Clinics and may travel between clinics to provide continued support. Selective candidates eligible for a sign-on bonus of $10000. Current UI employees are not eligible.
Percent of Time: 90% (36 hours a week)
Schedule: Monday through Friday 0700-2130 Saturday and Sunday 0700-1930 rotating weekends and holidays.
Location: Quad Cities - Availability to provide support to other clinics within a 2-hour radius required.Fleet Car provided. Paid drive time.
Salary Pay Structure SEIU: Health Care will be filling this position at one of two levels.
The Imaging Technologist classification salary is 4.
The Senior Imaging Technologistclassification salary is 5.

Position Responsibilities:
Operate adjust and manipulate computerized electronic and mechanical components of computerized diagnostic equipment.
Maintain operate and trouble-shoot and report equipment failures.
Instruct trainees students and staff on equipment operation and safety precautions.
Explain examination process to patients.
Ensure patients welfare and assist physician with medical procedures.
Perform patient care techniques including skin preparation I.V. placement vital sign monitoring and recording and basic life support; prepare and administer contrast material to patients.
Performs proficiency testing for the lab; phlebotomy; runs all controls; maintains logbooks.
Works closely with all inspectors.
Maintain records and results of examinations and archive computer data.
Schedules test procedures and admissions outside the clinic as directed by LIP.
Maintains examination rooms. Stocks necessary medical and radiologic supplies
Assist with inventory ordering supplies and maintaining quality assurance in accordance with hospital departmental and clinical unit standards.
Maintain knowledge of technical developments software updates and related subjects by attending meetings continuing education programs and participation in professional organizations and/or review journals or publications.
Perform quality assurance procedures and evaluate systems performance.
Maintain effective working relationships with faculty staff students and the public.
Works independently with limited supervision.
Senior Imaging Technologists will be responsible for one or more of the following duties:
Instruct and/or evaluate the clinical abilities and performance of RadiologyTechnology or sub-specialty students on a clinical rotation.
Participates in training employees in equipment operation patient movement and quality assurance.
Assist in creating schedules vacation planning on-call coverage
Provides an additional support function for clinical operations. (Example ordering)
Ability to respond to audit inquires including imaging and safety.
Leads audit and improvement efforts for accrediting bodies.

Education Requirements

Imaging Technologist: Requires Successful completion of two-year or other approved program by Joint Review Committee in Radiologic Technology Education is required.

- Must maintain current certification in American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and/or other radiologic related technological certification.
- Iowa Permit to Practice as required by the State of Iowa for all technologists operating ionizing radiation emitting equipment.
