Job Description: We are looking for a compassionate caring patient persons with upbeat attitudes and strong interpersonal skills. You will need to remain calm during hectic and changing situations. Working 12-hour shifts with a rotating schedule Personal Care Workers support and supervise individuals with physical abilities; use a team approach to plan organize and supervise daily activities; prepare and serve meals as planned; administer prescribed medications.

The Licensed Group Home is responsible for providing guidance support and supervision for individuals with Cognitive Mental and Physical Disabilities that require 24/7 care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and supervise elderly individuals
• Use a team approach to plan organize and supervise daily activities recreational and other services
• Prepare and serve meals as planned
• Assess needs of residents on an ongoing basis
• Maintain sanitation of Group Home
• Work 12-hour rotating shifts
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Experience:

• Previous home care or childcare experience is an asset
• Experience working with First Nations communities is an asset

Education:

• Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
• Personal Care Worker Continuing Care Aide or Home Health Aide Certificate or equivalent is preferred
• Combination of Education and Experience may be considered;
  on the job training will be provided

Licenses:

• Certified First Aide & CPR and Safe Food Handling Certificate required or willing to obtain
• Valid Class 5 Drivers License preferred

• A current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check Vulnerable Sector Screening and Drivers Abstract is required upon hire.
