Position Summary
The Pediatric Emergency Medicine Division in the Department of Pediatrics at UNC Chapel Hill School of Medicine is seeking a general pediatrician or pediatric emergency physician to fill a full-time fixed term Clinical Assistant Professor position to provide direct patient care solely in the Childrens Urgent Care in Raleigh or a hybrid of Childrens Urgent Care and low acuity Pediatric ED shifts in Chapel Hill. The Childrens Urgent Care is open from 4p-midnight Monday-Friday and noon-midnight on weekends and serves patients from birth through young adulthood. Responsibilities include teaching and supervising residents from a variety of specialties and learners from various healthcare professions including medical students NP and PA students. Our Department and Division offer multiple opportunities for faculty development and help foster strong mentoring relationships throughout the University and Medical Center. All division faculty members are expected to perform scholarly work to enhance the academic mission of the division. Salary will be commensurate with candidate experience and come coupled with a generous benefit package. UNC Childrens Hospital in Chapel Hill is an excellent academic medical center on a vibrant college campus. The Triangle area of North Carolina is known for Carolina Blue skies temperate weather some of the best food in the country and a dynamic arts and sports scene. Preferred Qualifications Competencies And Experience
At least 1 year experience post-residency in pediatric urgent care or emergency medicine or pediatric urgent care or emergency medicine fellowship training. The ideal candidate will have relevant training or experience treating acute illness and injuries; as well as comfort and competence with minor procedures and reading plain radiographs.
