Job Description

Qualifications: A bachelors degree in a related field and completion of a masters degree in a relevant field within three years of hire in the role. Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent. Seven (7) years of work experience in a laboratory setting with at least two (2) years in a supervisory or management role.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the daily operations of the clinical laboratory ensuring compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.
Manage and supervise laboratory staff including hiring training and performance evaluations.
Develop and implement laboratory policies and procedures to ensure high-quality and efficient operations.
Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment ensuring proper calibration and maintenance.
Ensure accurate and timely processing of laboratory tests and results.
Maintain quality control and quality assurance programs to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to support patient care and clinical research.
Manage the laboratory budget including ordering supplies and managing inventory.
Stay current with advancements in laboratory technology and best practices.

Additional Job Description

Education: Bachelors Degree or Equivalent Work Experience: 7 years progressive work experience and 2 years management experienceState licensure and/or professional certification requirement/s dependent on position. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
