Job Summary
Position Summary
Housing and Residence Life seeks applications for a custodian. The purpose of this position is to provide effective cleanliness and operation of the residential facilities on the Klamath Falls campus. The employee will have daily contact with students staff and the public. The employee works closely with the Trades/Maintenance Coordinator and the Director to ensure high cleaning standards are met and excellent customer service is provided to all residents staff and guests. This position works Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. With a willingness to perform prolonged physical labor walk bend stoop lift and climb in performance of duties. Also requires a willingness to work with caustic cleaning agents and to work in an environment containing dust odors and bio-hazardous materials (blood excrement etc.).
Minimum Requirements
* Knowledge of standard custodial practices and the proper use of cleaning products. * Ability to carry/lift up to 60 pounds. * Ability to push/pull up to 150 pounds. * Ability to walk/stand for extended periods of time. * Ability to climb ladders. * Current valid Drivers License.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with college students in a residential setting. Experience maintaining floors including waxing and stripping non-carpeted floors. One year of experience working as a custodian in an industrial commercial or institutional setting. Experience using chemicals as well as using large buffing and carpet cleaning equipment.
