Job Duties:

Plans develops coordinates manages and executes the recruitment and admissions process in alignment with the institutions strategic goals. Represents the institution to prospective students with a goal of attracting admitting and enrolling a talented diverse student body. May supervise staff and/or lead a program area.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Delivers directed admissions program messaging to internal and external audiences
  • Identifies promotes and maintains internal and external partnerships focusing on outreach recruitment and admission
  • Counsels prospective and admitted students on educational planning and career opportunities
  • Engages in extensive outreach and recruitment events representing the university to prospective students
  • May supervise staff and/or lead a program area
  • Reviews evaluates and responds to student applications according to established policies and procedures
  • Identifies opportunities for and develops admissions and outreach events
  • Schedules logistics and secures resources for events to promote the Institution
  • Evaluates program effectiveness and provides recommendations for improvement
  • Creates targeted communication plans and materials based on established goals

Full-Time: 100% appointment Academic Staff Ongoing 12-month two vacancies

UW Standard Job Responsibilities:

  • Counsels prospective and admitted students on educational planning and career opportunities.
  • Reviews evaluates and responds to student applications according to established policies and procedures.
  • Identifies opportunities for and develops admissions and outreach events.
  • Schedules logistics and secures resources for events to promote the Institution.
  • Evaluates program effectiveness and provides recommendations for improvement.
  • Creates targeted communication plans and materials based on established goals.
  • Delivers directed admissions program messaging to internal and external audiences.
  • Identifies promotes and maintains internal and external partnerships focusing on outreach recruitment and admission.
  • Engages in extensive outreach and recruitment events representing the university to prospective students.

Other Duties:

  • Complete required trainings and professional development as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of at least one of the following areas: admissions financial aid recruiting advising or counseling and/or teaching.
  • Knowledge and understanding of higher education and the value of a public liberal arts education.
  • Skill in strong cross-cultural interpersonal and writing skills including public speaking skills and the ability to present the University of Wisconsin-Superior in a positive way to diverse populations.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with K-12 partners prospective students and their families.
  • Ability to manage a variety of tasks and organize a variety of on and off-campus events.
  • Ability to exhibit a high level of initiative and motivation.
  • Ability to travel load and transport admission materials displays and other equipment.
  • Ability to work and be productive in a team environment.
  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours.
  • Ability to represent the admissions office positively through a strong student-centered ethic.
  • Ability to drive a vehicle for the purpose of conducting university business and meet the criteria for operation of state-owned-vehicles Policy 615.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution
  • Valid Drivers License

This position is currently ineligible for H1-B sponsorship. A qualification for this position includes independent eligibility to work within the United States upon hire date.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • One or more years working in college admissions
  • Experience with Student Information Systems (SIS) and Customer Relations Management (CRM) System
  • Familiarity with University of Wisconsin-System

Compensation & Benefits: Salary range for this position is: $44000 - $46000 annually.
