Job Summary
Reporting to the co-directors of Pancreas Centre BC the Project Coordinator facilitates research activities by managing a range of projects collaborations and grants for the team. The Pancreas Centre BC multidisciplinary team is composed of clinicians and research staff including trainees and the Project Coordinator is an integral position supporting the team members. This position will be responsible for managing translational projects and tissue databases. The role will also liaise between team members and research groups at different locations/organizations facilitate the development of collaborations and manage access to the centre resources to support these collaborations. The Project Coordinator works closely with the PIs and the scientific program manager in evolving and enhancing the scientific focus of the team and ensuring the successful progress in clinical and translational research initiatives led by the centre.
Organizational Status
Reports to the Clinical and Research Directors of the Pancreas Centre BC including Dr. David Schaeffer Associate Professor (Partner) with the UBC Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.

Consequence of Error/Judgement
Accountable for the timely accurate and responsible research management with important public health implications for cancer research.
Supervision Received
Oversight will be provided by the PI however the position requires a strong independent work ethic and a candidate capable of setting their own directions and priorities within a given framework and working within agreed-upon milestones and timelines.

May be asked to supervise placement co-op and directed studies students in research.
Minimum Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline. Minimum of two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
