The Manager Permitting oversees the submission of various non-environmental permitting and third-party crossing applications prepares reports and schedules and liaises with clients infrastructure companies municipalities and other government entities so that projects are completed on time and within scope.

This is a hybrid position. Two-year full-time contract.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage direct reports and provide regular feedback coaching assignment of work establishment of goals and formal reviews.
  • Establish a highly efficient and positive culture where employees are empowered and accountable for areas of responsibility.
  • Cultivate a work environment committed to the health safety and wellness of employees.
  • Provide expertise and leadership to support ongoing and new development projects focused on but not limited to permitting and regulatory needs.
  • Research local county/city and federal municipalities to confirm permit requirements.
  • Obtain third party consents update and prepare Third Party Line Lists for various infrastructure development renewable energy telecommunications and other rights-of-way projects.
  • Coaches team members in execution of project deliverables.
  • Responsible to ensure effective administration and control of all third party/crossing documentation including the management of renewals and expiries.
  • Manage construction line list and construction binders in conjunction with other land analysts and permitters.
  • Track permit statuses key milestone dates and related metadata.
  • Maintain project line lists and databases.
  • Obtain and manage receipt of third party consents as part of third party programs.
  • Form and maintain strong professional relationships withpermitting authorities.
Perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Post-secondary education in land land administration real estate planning or a related field of study or relevant experience.
  • Minimum 6 years in regulatory permits in an administrative capacity with project related experience.
  • Experience managing and training direct reports.
  • Experience successfully planning and executing major projects.
  • Experience with infrastructure (petroleum pipeline and transmission) renewable and/or other right-of-way projects.
  • Experience working with a multi-disciplinary team of project professionals.
  • Experience in interfacing with national and local agencies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with an extremely keen attention to detail.
  • Expertise in analyzing and interpreting prevailing regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong documentation file management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet critical deadlines and timelines.
  • Proficient using software to track and organize several hundred third party crossings and permits on a single project.
  • Ability to interpret survey/construction plans maps and legal descriptions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A valid drivers licence is required.
