We are currently seeking a passionate and driven individual to join our Indirect Category Management Travel team as an Assistant Category Manager based in Shanghai China. This role supports the Greater China Area including Mainland China Hong Kong and Taiwan.

This role will be based in the above locations where you will work independently in your day-to-day activities. We are looking for a motivated self-starter to join our Maersk Travel Team

Key responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for Travel Agency setup and operations across China Hong Kong and Taiwan managing all day-to-day matters efficiently.
• Drive continuous improvement of the Maersk Travel Program by identifying opportunities and implementing best practices across the region.
• Quickly establish yourself as the subject matter expert on our policies our systems and approval processes and be a resource for employees.
• Communicate Travel Guidelines and Policies across the Maersk organization to ensure alignment and compliance.
• Assist strategic decision making through data analysis and daily feedback from stakeholders

• Assist with and independently execute various tenders and projects in the region
• Servicing internal stakeholders on various operational ad-hoc requests related to travel activities
• Collaborate with global Category Managers with their categories i.e. Airlines Hotel Meetings & Events and Travel Agencies
  

You will have significant responsibility from the start and are expected to execute and deliver on time and with a great sense of detail.

Required qualifications experience & skills

• A bachelors degree or equivalent work experience (Master degree or similar is preferred)
• 2-3 years of relevant work experience related to the Travel industry.
• Excellent written oral and formal communication skills in both Mandarin and English. A third regional language is preferred international mind-set supported by high level of proficiency and confidence in spoken and written English.
• Excellent Stakeholder Management skills with both internal and external partners
• Strong professional interest in the Travel Industry. Experience from a job in the airline/hotel industry or Travel Management Company is an advantage
• Ability to manage multiple projects adjust priorities as needed and meet deadlines
• Comfortable working with PowerPoint Power BI and Excel and interested in being able to develop and deliver clear written messages
• Ability to generate innovative insights from analysis; develop and implement new methodologies and analysis to drive actionable results with a sharp eye for details
• Entrepreneurial in spirit and adaptable in a continuously changing environment
• Service minded and comfortable communicating with many different cultures and all levels of the organisation
• A strong team player able to collaborate effectively and contribute positively to team dynamics.
