Job Summary

Loc Performance Products LLC provides full services for complex mechanical products fabricated structures and systems that range from complete design services to prototype manufacturing testing production launch full rate production and product service and sustainment. Loc provides quality products and services at affordable prices through a lean organizational structure and four facilities three in Michigan that span 910000 square feet and one in Ohio that span 800000 square feet. The Plymouth MI facility serves as corporate headquarters and specializes in suspension driveline and track systems. The Lansing and Lapeer Michigan based facilities specialize in fabrications and armor product solutions. Locs St. Marys Ohio facility manufactures rubber track products for agricultural construction and defense industries.

Job Title: CNC Lathe Machine Operator

Department: Production

Location: Plymouth MI

Summary Operates computer numerical control (CNC) lathe machining centers to perform machine functions such as boring facing and threading parts of metallic workpieces such as castings forgings and bar stock by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned

Edit programs on CNC machines setting tool registers offsets compensation and conditional switches; calculating requirements including basic math basic geometry and basic trigonometry; proving part programs.
Assists in setting-up CNC machines by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks tools attachments collets bushings cams gears stops and stock pushers; indicating vices; tramming heads.
Verifies settings by measuring positions first-run part and sample workpieces; adhering to international standards.
Maintains specifications by observing drilling grooving and cutting including turning facing knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturers instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions irregularities and continuing needs.
Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and at least three years CNC Machining experience.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
