Job Summary

The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) is seeking a full-time Facilities Setup Custodian to provide both event support and custodial services for all OMSI facilities activities and events. This hybrid role primarily focuses on preparing setting up and maintaining event spaces while also performing general custodial duties across OMSIs Portland campus when events are not in progress. OMSIs Portland campus includes 219000 square feet of museum space along with multiple outbuildings totaling over 57000 square feet. The Facilities Setup Custodian helps ensure that all guests and staff experience a clean safe and welcoming environment.

Qualified candidates will have but not limited to:

Minimum one-year prior event or custodial-related experience
Ability to safely and effectively operate and maintain all event and custodial equipment including working knowledge of equipment cleaning practices (cleaning and sanitizing restrooms maintaining floors and outside grounds keeping) procedures and supplies
Ability to model and support teamwork and collaboration with colleagues with varied skills and responsibilities
Knowledge of proper lifting techniques and safety equipment for lifting heavy objects
Working knowledge with operating and maintaining custodial tools

The Facilities Setup Custodian has an hourly pay of $20.25 and is eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes:

2 weeks of vacation per year with no waiting period. Hours carry over year to year up to 200 hours;
2 weeks of sick time per year with no waiting period. Hours carry over year to year up to 520 hours;
