The Department of Cinema and Media Studies at the University of Chicago invites applications for part-time Lecturers during the 2025-26 academic year.
The selected candidate will have part-time teaching opportunities for courses that count toward theMedia Arts & Design major and minor. Courses will include experimental digital media production history of games and digital media AI Art media performance 3D modeling digital sound and music television studies and other areas of media arts and design practice. Responsibilities include preparing and teaching lecture- and/or workshop-style courses holding regularly scheduled office hours and preparing and grading of assignments and testing materials. Depending on the curricular needs of the department the successful candidate may teach between one and four courses per academic year.
The terms and conditions of employment for this position are covered by a collective bargaining agreement between the University and Service Employees International Union. The per-course salary for academic year 2025-26 will be at least $8883. This position is not benefits eligible.
Applicants must hold a Bachelors degree or equivalent. Applicants must have professional experience in a related field and/or at least the equivalent of one year of experience teaching at the university or post-secondary level.
