In this position

We are seeking a strategic and experienced leader to own the global immigration program from strategy to execution. Reporting to the Senior Director of Talent Mobility this role will be accountable for the programs success ensure compliance with evolving immigration laws and regulations supporting both new and existing foreign national talent. This role is critical in enabling the seamless movement of talent worldwide to support business growth and strategic objectives.

This is a hybrid role to Dearborn MI and will be required to work onsite 4 days a week. Remote work may be considered for qualified candidates.



Responsibilities

What youll do

  • Immigration Strategy & Execution
    Develop and lead global immigration policies aligned with business priorities and workforce planning goals.
  • Compliance Leadership
    Ensure adherence to U.S. and international immigration laws (e.g. H-1B L-1 O TN PERM) and internal policies; proactively manage regulatory risk.
  • Cross-Functional Partnering
    Advise senior HR Legal Recruiting and Compensation teams on complex immigration scenarios and cross-border moves.
  • Vendor & Budget Oversight
    Oversee global immigration vendor relationships and manage a multi-million dollar program budget ensuring ROI and service quality.
  • Program Metrics & Reporting
    Create and present data-driven dashboards to senior leadership on compliance service delivery and risk exposure.
  • Team Leadership
    Lead mentor and grow a high-performing global team; foster a culture of accountability innovation and excellence.
  • Risk Management
    Identify immigration and geopolitical risks and implement strategies to reduce exposure across regions.


Qualifications

Youll have

  • Bachelors degree in a related field (Legal Studies Law etc.); Juris Doctor (JD) strongly preferred.
  • 10 years in U.S. immigration law and/or global mobility with demonstrated expertise across work authorization compliance and cross-border strategy.

Even better you may have

  • Proven people leadership experience in a complex multinational organization.
  • Track record of designing and scaling immigration programs that balance compliance candidate experience and business agility.
  • Deep understanding of employment-based visas (H-1B L-1 TN O-1 E-3 PERM) and corporate immigration policy.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills; able to translate risk into action.
  • Experience managing external vendors and global legal providers.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication; confident presenting to senior leadership.
