Our Approach

• Kollmorgen Internship Program provides an accelerated training and professional development for college students who wish to pursue a career in Manufacturing Design Sales or Product Development. The program will give students the opportunity to get exposed to the various facets of Kollmorgens lean manufacturing environment. The program will build on your technical skills by providing you a role with significant responsibility as well as exposure to experienced business leaders mentors and subject matter experts.
• Based upon the success of the internship the Intern will be offered a full-time position with Kollmorgen.

Manufacturing Engineer

• Our Manufacturing Engineers are the focal point of the manufacturing process as they interact with all of the internal support functions and external resources to ensure that the production process is streamlined and maintained without interruption. Typical assignments in the area of Manufacturing Engineering include:
  • Implementation of Lean Conversion Initiatives
  • Design of fixturing and tooling
  • Vendor sourcing and qualifying for new products and LCR initiatives
  • Capacity planning
  • Coordination with Design Engineering for Design for Manufacturability
  • Support the design development and implementation of mfg. cells for new product introductions
  • Drive Lean manufacturing principles such as Standard Work Poke-Yoke Visual Management Variation Reduction into daily operations
  • Lead kaizen activities to achieve quality delivery and productivity goals
  • Identify and implement design alternatives to improve quality and cost targets
  • Interface with suppliers to establish root cause and lead sustained problem resolution
  • Provide engineering support for shop floor assembly operations

Education and/or Experience

• Pursuing a 4-year Engineering degree.
• Must have strong written and oral communication skills for direct and frequent communication with internal and external customers and suppliers.
• Must have good interpersonal skills for our multi-functional team environment.
• Ability to work with all levels including management and production personnel to resolve technical issues that are identified through the manufacturing process.
