KyCAD is seeking an IT Administrator to support all technology needs across the campus of the Kentucky College of Art and Design. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who can balance day-to-day troubleshooting with long-term systems management. The IT Administrator will serve as the primary point of contact for all faculty staff and student hardware and software needs ensuring smooth operations and reliable access to technology resources.
Part II Responsibilities
- Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide end-user support for faculty staff and students across all hardware (laptops desktops printers peripherals) and software.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to operating systems applications networking and connectivity.
- Maintain inventory of devices and ensure timely repairs and replacements.

- Systems Administration
- Manage the Microsoft 365 (M365) environment including user accounts permissions email Teams and SharePoint.
- Oversee system updates backups and security protocols.
- Implement and monitor endpoint protection and security best practices.

- IT Operations & Planning
- Coordinate hardware/software deployment and upgrades.
- Maintain documentation of IT policies procedures and support guides.
- Collaborate with other departments and leadership on technology planning to align with organizational needs and budgets.

- Training & Communication
- Provide training and guidance to faculty staff and students on effective use of technology resources.
- Communicate technical concepts in clear accessible language.

Part III Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 24 years of hands-on IT support experience preferably in an academic or multi-user environment.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 (user management Exchange Teams OneDrive SharePoint).
- Proficiency in hardware and software troubleshooting (Windows macOS and basic networking).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a service-oriented mindset.
Part IV - Preferred Skills
- Experience in and managing the Microsoft365 Environment
- Experience with classroom technology (smart boards projectors AV equipment).
- Familiarity with mobile device management (MDM) tools.
- Basic knowledge of cybersecurity practices and compliance.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to perform the work as outlined in the position description and responsibilities sections above.
This position requires the ability to lift 30lbs (approx.) and must be able to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects including the human body.
