About the position

About the Project
We are recruiting two postdoctoral research fellows for the project ProSoft Enhancing proton therapy for soft tissue sarcomas. The project aims to develop a new spatially fractionated proton therapy (SFPT) strategy integrated with advanced MRI to improve treatment outcomes for patients with inoperable soft tissue sarcoma. Work will be carried out in a cross-disciplinary team spanning radiation biology oncology radiology and physics.
Both positions focus on pre-clinical experimental studies with close links to upcoming clinical sarcoma trials at Oslo University Hospital.

Positions

Postdoc 1 Biology
Conduct pre-clinical studies using sarcoma-bearing mice
Apply histopathology immunohistochemistry and related methods to assess various tumor response markers after SFPT

Postdoc 2 Medical Physics
Lead MRI-based monitoring of treatment effects in the tumors
Link MR imaging data to biological endpoints
Contribute MR approaches to clinical sarcoma studies

Both postdocs will collaborate closely share responsibility for experimental work and contribute to publications and supervision of students.

Qualifications

Required

  • PhD in biology biophysics biotechnology or medical physics
  • Hands-on experience with experimental research (cells and/or animal models)
Preferred
  • Postdoc 1: Expertise in animal models histopathology immunohistochemistry molecular analysis
  • Postdoc 2: Expertise in medical physics MRI ionizing radiation animal models
