Description

To support the growth of the Elekta business and our continuous innovation in patient care the Global Engineering business area has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Technical Author.

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated team player with experience of defining and creating high-end technical content for product documentation and literature. This is a varied role operating within the Technical Publications function based in Beijing. Working in an established team with years of expertise and the latest industry tools creating highly technical content. You will be self-starting and have the ability to work independently you will be results driven and able to interpret information requirements into clear concise content to be used in our suite of product manuals.

The role involves collaborative working with other functional areas of Elektas global business in addition to third party suppliers to bring our technical content in line with latest information systems.

Elekta seeks to continuously improve its operating environment. You will be capable of supporting the development and implementation of new practices tools and techniques to encourage and develop a highly innovative approach to information development.

Responsibilities

1. Responsible for writing high-end technical product documentation in accordance with project requirements local and global company policies and produce updates to documents in support of engineering changes.

2. Work with all project personnel interpret documentation requirements and extract necessary information from the project and engineering design teams. Obtain and collate design information as source material towards the creation of accompanying documentation design the information deliverables to support the product.

3. Responsible for planning and coordinating all activities to meet the needs of documentation and the customer.

4. Management of the delivery of solutions to agreed timescales. Recognize risks and demonstrate ability to manage and/or escalate these risks to the project team and functional management.

5. Collect and collate evidential documentation to support internal and external audit requirements as and when required.

6. Initiate and support translation activities with the localization team for any content development projects you are assigned to.

7. Ability to take on editorial tasks as and when required.

8. Undertake other tasks as requested by the Team Leader and/or Technical Publications Manager.

Education & MajorCertification

At least Minimum of Degree or equivalent experience in an English scientific software technical life sciences environment required.

Knowledge Experience & Skills (Necessary Items)

1. Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.

2. Experience with XML-based authoring tools is essential Ixiasoft CMS would be highly advantageous.

3. Competent using Microsoft Office/Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Visio.

Knowledge Experience & Skills (Preferred Items)

1. Competent in DITA XML XML and HTML5 is highly desirable.

2. Experience of working in an Agile project environment would be advantageous.

3. Previous experience of working with medical imaging systems treatment planning systems hardware and software would be highly advantageous.

4. Ideally minimum of 10 years work experience in technical writing.

5. Strong technical editing and QC skills.
