How will you make an impact
Develop new metrology methods to apply to a variety of samples by working closely with AT scientists in real customers emerging problems.
Work with many technologies including SEM FIB HVPS vacuum gas chemistry detectors optics lasers robots electro-mechanical systems and pneumatics.
Document the contribution to the project by being an organized researcher capable of independently but collaboratively advance towards new solutions.
Projects may include the following responsibilities:
Assist in the design simulation and optimization of ion sources for FIB systems.
Conduct experiments using dual-beam microscopes to test and validate the performance of ion sources.
Develop and implement automation protocols for experimental procedures and data acquisition to enhance efficiency and accuracy in testing processes.
Analyze experimental data to evaluate the FIB performance identify areas for improvement and contribute to the development of new methodologies.
Prepare detailed technical reports documentation and presentations on findings methodologies and proposed improvements.
Compensation & Relocation: Our Research & Development co-ops offer an hourly rate between $21.50 - $35 dependent upon the location you are supporting (aligned to respective cost-of-living guidelines). Additionally a relocation stipend is offered in the amount of $5000 if necessary. Student must be located 50 miles away from the physical location of co-op to be eligible for the relocation stipend.
How will you get here
Masters degree in Physics Mathematics Computer Science or a related field. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python.
Demonstrated laboratory experience and hands-on skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment demonstrating strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills with a high degree of emotional intelligence.
