POSITION SUMMARY

The Administraive Assistant is responsible for supporting the Middle/High Schools students teachers parents and its leadership team in a variety of duties as needed and/or assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Manage a complex office environment with frequent interruptions. Handle routine and emergency office decisions.
  • Maintain confidentiality of personnel files records and student information.
  • Prepare and type correspondence and reports for principal.
  • Record staff absences and prepare reports.
  • Request and assist substitute teachers and paraprofessionals.
  • Order instructional/office supplies and assist teachers with orders for supplies.
  • Maintain financial records; dispense monies (paychecks travel checks reimbursements etc.).
  • Prepare documents/school calendars etc. distribute to district building personnel site partners and vendors
  • Assist in preparation & coordination of special programs campus activities and other functions.
  • Work with district departments to coordinate school activities.
  • Schedule meetings and appointments and maintain calendar for principal.
  • Assist students teachers and parents as needed.
  • Update handbooks policy manuals and other documents as assigned.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders.
  • Receive store and issue supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain inventory of fixed assets equipment and supplies.
  • Data Entry
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the principal

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma/GED; Bachelors degree preferred
  • Experience in applicable area preferably in a school setting
  • Experience working with diverse student populations parents and other stakeholders

EXPECTED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to build and sustain positive collaborative relationships both internally and externally
  • Ability to plan and present information to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to facilitate various size groups using facilitative leadership skills
  • Skills in written and oral communication
  • Skills in planning and organization
  • Knowledge of current trends methods research and technology in area of responsibility
  • In-depth knowledge of assigned program and service area
  • Ability to collect analyze and interpret data
