The Human Services Coordinator position is located in the Wilmington Unit office and provides coverage for Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) caseload covering 3 counties (New Hanover Brunswick and Pender). The primary purpose of this position is to provide Pre-Employment Transition Services to students and maintain effective partnerships with our Pre-ETS vendors and educational staff. Position will collaborate with our Pre-ETS vendors and promote EIPD services to young people with disabilities who need additional support to successfully transition from high school to college career and adult life. Services are provided according to State Federal and Agency policies and guidelines under the direct supervision of the Counselor in Charge.


Job responsibilities include the following but are not limited to:


  • Collaborate and coordinate with Pre-ETS vendors and school staff to provide pre-employment transition services to students with disabilities
  • Work within a case management system to manage a caseload of potentially eligible students between 3 counties
  • Review required documentation to approve student milestones submitted by Pre-ETS vendors
  • Provide accurate and relevant information regarding the application process for EIPD services
  • Promote EIPD services to students who need additional support to successfully transition from high school to college career and adult life.
  • Requires the capacity to travel to various locations as needed for job duties.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities / Competencies


Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.

The following Management Preferences are not required but applicants that possess these skills are preferred:

  • Knowledge of or experience in case management
  • Knowledge of or experience working with people with disabilities or underserved/marginalized populations
  • Knowledge of or experience working with a team of professionals to help a client meet a goal
  • Knowledge of or experience with MS Office Suite including Outlook Word and Excel
  • Persons with a background in service delivery to individuals with disabilities preferably those with physical limitations

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelors degree in a discipline relative to the program served from an appropriately accredited institution;
OR
Bachelors degree from an appropriately accredited institutionand one year of experience in an area related to program that provides experience in techniques of casework or counseling;
OR
equivalent combination of education and experience.
